It’s sad to see people who normally do good work put out garbage. It’s like they quit trying after the first 20 pages and just tried to end it as soon as possible. The story was painfully boring and required effort to slog through. Dialogue was forced and contrived. Written at the 8th grade reading level or below.
How disappointing to see these talented authors, or their proxies, produce such nonsensical foolishness. Words fail me.
Hmmm...Great story that seemingly guarantees more adventures from Dr. Gideon et al
The worst effort from what has been to this point two very fine thriller writers. I would swear it was written by someone else under their name for a Young Adult audience. Contrived and choppy with characters that are completely unlike able. The ending is just crap. I won’t spoil it but there is no payoff at the end. I wish I could get my money and time back.
I had reasonable expectations for this book, but implausibility built upon implausibility. An Army Ranger who can’t swim? Huh? Army Rangers have to pass a swim competency test. Stealing jewels from a cave with no plan for escape? What? These characters were supposed to be experienced and they came off as the Three Stooges.
The ending was as implausible as the rest of the book. This was my first and last book by these two guys.
I am generally a fan of these writers, but they missed the boat on this one. Slow and not even remotely believable. Hope they get back to form on their next effort.
Luv the authors books but this one was very slow paced and not all that exciting.
Slightly disappointed, the story lacked any real intrigue. Gideon’s character was more of an observer of events, rather than an active participant.
The first few books of this series held my interest but I’m stopping as of this book. Childish and moronic.
Could not put it down
