Amazing words of motivation. She’s like your best friend telling you all the things you need to hear but don’t want to hear... it’s a kick in butt to get over your self pity.
save your money, as a licensed therapist i can tell you that this book will do more harm than good. after hearing about it i decided to look into what made it popular. the only explanation is that it feeds off the same insecurities that make someone want to buy this kind of book in the first place- the mantra “your life isn’t what you want to be because you didn’t try hard enough”. it has the potential to make people feel bad for not having a charmed life as the author did and wondering why they aren’t as successful. not only is it condescending, the relationship advice is so so bad that i am sad for any unsuspecting person who comes across this and buys into any of it. its everything you’ve already heard before but with a white-privilege twist to it.
She hit every point most women come across in their lives, if not daily lives. I feel her writing is very easy to follow and her stories are relatable. I am looking forward to her next book!
Enjoy the lifestyle. Real life isn’t like this. Thanks though for trying.
This book has definitely changed me life. I definitely recommend it.
I downloaded the sample and then went for the $12.99 download which I now regret. This is unoriginal and I just get an icky feeling after reading this. Particularly when she is describing an awful boyfriend that used her which snap is now her husband. Yuck. Don’t read this and for the love of god don’t let your impressionable teen read it!!!
True Life!!! So thankful my SIL wanted me to read!! Needed this peace!! Sooo Grateful for this!
I truly believe every girl will benefit from reading ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’. I bought the book for all of my girlfriends because I loved this book so much. If you want to take control of your life this book will get you there.
love the positivity, and down to earth writing skills!
I discovered the sweet Rachel Hollis on The Skinny Confidential podcast, when she was a guest and opened up about her childhood, her adoption journey, etc., and fell in love with her spirit right away. Reading her book made me feel like I not only understood her better, but more importantly understood myself better. Such an easy and peaceful read. Loved it! Warning: Reading this book will make you wish you could be friends with Rachel!
